AND IN 2024 IS PROJECTED TO SEE 76,280 NEW CASES, AND 24,810 DEATHS.
THE 14-COUNTY DAYTON REGION HAS SIGNIFICANT CANCER INCIDENCES AND DEATHS, HIGHER THAN OTHER PARTS OF OHIO. IN 2024, 9,306 DAYTON-AREA RESIDENTS WILL BECOME CANCER PATIENTS AND 3,200 WHO ARE BATTLING CANCER WILL PERISH.
Cancer is the leading cause of death in most of the 14-county Dayton region, and a leading cause in the rest. Lung, breast and prostate cancer are the most prevalent cancers.
