On Wednesday, May 20, 14 Gala of Hope volunteers delivered chef-prepared meals to 26 cancer patients and their families. What do you think Shauna, Mike, and Rogena (pictured above) were feeling? Gratitude? Hope? More certainty? Feeling more support? Yes, and maybe even...yum, food made by someone else! For a few minutes...with every bite...their reality was suspended. Can you imagine how good that felt...or tasted? Hope can taste good! We are so thankful for those who became our "hope" delivery team, some you see below. All shared that they were overwhelmed with the joy these patients showed...some volunteers even sat in their cars for a few moments after and shed some tears at their opportunity to deliver hope. And thank you to Little Miami River Catering, owned and operated by Matt and Molly McConnell, for volunteering these meals for patients and families.
